Horseback riding in natural surroundings is a new program (referred to as natural horse riding, or NHR, at Paard Musée) providing opportunities to enjoy the full experience of horse trekking, from meeting the horse for the first time to saying goodbye.
The program begins with participants catching an unsaddled horse for use in the lesson for the day. Riders are first instructed on how to interact affectionately with the horse in an unthreatening way so that they and their animals are at ease, and then lead them to the stable. Participants learn how to ride while gradually bonding with their horses, and finally embark on a trek into a forest.
This full-scale leisure activity in lush forest surroundings provides panoramic views of Mt. Komagatake.
